Samuel C. Thilo

Sam Thilo was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. Sam attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and graduated with a double degree in Communications (Rhetoric) and German.  Sam went on to work as a project manager in Madison, Wisconsin at Epic Systems Corporation, the nation’s leading software maker for electronic medical records.  After working at Epic, Sam attended the University of Idaho College of Law and served as an editor of the Idaho Law Review, graduating in 2010. 

Sam started his legal practice at Witherspoon Kelley in Spokane, Washington becoming a partner in 2015.  He began at Evans, Craven & Lackie in January, 2017 as a litigation partner.   Sam focuses his practice on civil litigation and corporate legal matters. He has experience in a wide variety of professional negligence and medical malpractice cases, including defending real estate appraisers, hospitals, physicians, nurses, and mental healthcare providers in Washington State and drafting successful appeals. Sam also focuses on employment law disputes, including defending wrongful termination and harassment claims, and handling general employment matters. He has provided counsel in other civil matters ranging from timber trespass disputes to breach of contract claims.

Sam is admitted to practice law in Washington and Idaho as is also admitted in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Washington; the United States Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Washington; and the Eastern District of Washington Federal Bar Association.  Sam is an Executive Board Member of the Inland Northwest Council for the Boy Scouts of America and is an Eagle Scout.  He enjoys bird hunting, training his Chesapeake Bay Retriever, and exploring Washington’s wineries with his wife.
