Jury Unanimously Finds for Hospital

After nearly four weeks of trial, a Spokane jury returned a unanimous defense verdict in favor of a Spokane hospital and pediatrician. The hospital was represented by ECL lawyer Bob Sestero. The plaintiffs claimed that the hospital and pediatrician were negligent in discharging an infant who later developed jaundice and hyperbilirubinemia.

ECL lawyers represented a local pulmonologist in a wrongful death medical negligence case. After a multi-week trial, the jury found that the physician’s treatment complied with the standard of care. The physician was represented at trial by ECL lawyer Jim King.

Jury Returns Verdict in Favor of Whitman County

On July 18, 2014 a federal jury returned a defense verdict in favor of ECL client Whitman County. The plaintiff claimed that she was a victim of workplace harassment by another employee. Whitman County was successfully defended at trial by lead counsel Mick McFarland. ECL Associate attorney Frieda Zimmerman assisted Mr. McFarland throughout trial.

Local Jury Returns Verdict in Favor of Physician

A Spokane jury returned a defense verdict in a medical negligence case tried in Spokane County Superior Court before Judge Kathleen O’Connor. The jury found that the physician complied with the standard of care in his treatment of the plaintiff. The physician was represented by ECL attorney Jim King.

ECL Welcomes New Partner

After six years as an associate attorney at ECL, Mark Louvier has been promoted to partner effective January 1, 2014. Mr. Louvier’s practice is primarily concerned with the defense of healthcare providers in medical negligence lawsuits.
